Wood Vetch
A day of worthwhile meetings rather than fieldwork, both of which involved improving biodiversity and connecting with nature, but didn't provide any photo-opportunities! Fortunately our garden nature reserve always provides beauty and fascination, and half an hour of careful observation always works to calm an over-busy mind.
The wild flowers and grasses are now looking particularly beautiful, and continue to attract a multitude of insects. There are still hordes of Common Blue Damselfly around and today I watched one stalk and catch an unfortunate Mint Moth. I photographed it settling down to eat its meal - you can see that the whole of its head is covered in scales! (see extra)
