Late but very welcome

This beautiful purple bush is much loved by butterflies - even more than the buddleias. With our wet May, it was late, and so were the butterflies.

Another glorious day and there were several small tortoiseshells, and a couple of red admirals.  They were all a bit flighty, but I interrupted my reading ( and the football) to go in pursuit.
