The poppies have just escaped from their furry carapaces and are ready to uncrinkle. They don't last long but are a real delight.

I've had a quiet day, mostly houseworking and cooking. In the afternoon I went for a walk; met a couple of friends who were working in their gardens and stopped for a chat. Catching up on the news.
