Streptocarpus

This cape primrose /streptocarpus plant in our bathroom has really pulled out all the stops this year. I'm not sure what I've done right, but it's worked.
We had had the girls overnight so it was an early start for me. Isobel's idea of playing quietly involves tipping all of the plastic letter tiles into a tin then stirring then up with a spoon to make porridge for her dolly. Eilidh was unimpressed and I too was underwhelmed when we were woken at 6.15am.
After dropping the girls off at preschool and school, I popped back home for coffee and a croissant, then, as it was Wednesday went round to church for the midweek service.
After church, Colin and I decided to brave the traffic jams on the Queensferry Road and head out to Mannerstons for lunch. We nearly gave up as the traffic was so bad. Hopefully the roadworks will be finished tomorrow and the roads back to normal.
Lunch was worth it though although I was so tired that I couldn't get warmed up. I was OK with some food in me though.
I had a good nana nap when we got back home and slept soundly. Hopefully that won't have a knock on effect tonight.
Took the girls overnight stuff back to them this evening. I'd bought a doll's dress and coat for Isobel's doll in the charity shop. So I dressed the doll in it before giving it so to her. She was speechless at first then said thank you unprompted and with great excitement then ran through to show it to mum and dad. She came running back to ask if it was really for her dolly to keep! Best £2.50 I've spent in a long time. She really does enjoy her dolls.
A quiet evening at home. I've a busy day tomorrow so hopefully I'll have slept well overnight.
