Mock Orange Blossom
My Mum's Philadelphus (Mock Orange)shrub is looking wonderful and the flowers are sweetly scented too. On returning home today I found the flowers of the weird, chlorophyll-free, parasitic, Knapweed Brooomrape (blipped on13th June)have opened (see extra).
This evening, we were treated to a live, on-line performance of "As You Like It" by "Sweet Tea Shakespeare" , a performing arts group, based in Fayetteville, North Carolina. There were only five members of the cast, with each one taking several parts; changing hats, spectacles, and wigs, to denote their different characters.
When the Bard wrote how "All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players:" he couldn't possibly have imagined that "they have their exits and their entrances..." by Zoom, but tonight that was most definitely the case!
