Finding My Bearings

Testing times!

Until a week ago, you could count the number of positive covid cases we’ve had at school since the start of pandemic on the fingers of one hand - and only one person caught it from someone at school. In just a few days, though, we’ve had around 15 positive results, mostly among 12-14 year olds, with over 130 students having to self-isolate following contact tracing.

This exactly coincides with the government’s announcement that the majority of new cases are in 10-19 year olds but what I haven’t seen reported in the news is that our local health service has now asked for all children in Years 7 to 9 (so aged 11-14) to get a PCR test done asap.

It’s definitely getting scary again!
