St Margaret's Loch Holyrood Park

This morning's run was out to St Margaret's Loch at the east end of Holyrood Park.  It's hard to believe this is the centre of Edinburgh - it looks like the highlands. The loch is man-made and was formed in 1856 as part of Prince Albert's plans for the area around Holyrood Palace.  You can see the ruined St Anthony's Chapel on the hillside.  Not much is known about this although it's thought to have been built no later than the early 15th century.  I found the run hard work today - uphill on the way back!

A few hours at the allotment in the afternoon.  We planted cauliflower romanesco which is a first and managed to squeeze in another couple of squash (potimarron) plants.  Mister F pruned the plum tree although we've no fruit this year - it's been a feast or a famine since we planted it.  A full punnet of strawberries harvested today!

Euros footie tonight saw England v Scotland draw 0 - 0.  Scotland are bottom of Group D after two matches with 1 point.   But we're not out yet!
