Background Noise

Today my daughter was the one taking pictures. Since I was having a relatively good hair day, I let her take a few shots at me.

Some days I feel like background noise. No matter what I say to my daughter, she doesn't listen. Or she won't hear. She's been working on me for about 10 months to give her some sort of dessert after breakfast. I haven't caved in once. I've emphatically said "no" each and every time. Yet, she still perseveres and asks most days for a Popsicle or some other treat after breakfast. As if after ten months, I'm finally going to give in now. I can't even use the "broken record" analogy any more -- kids these days won't get it.
