Little House in the Big Woods

My daughter is still talking about our recent trip to New York City.

"Mama, I like living in the country."

"Do you?"

"Yes. I feel more at home in the country. I just don't feel at home in the city."

"Me, too," I say as I wonder where where she learned to use the term "to feel at home" and where a four-year-old got the insight that I didn't get until I was well into adulthood. She's an old soul, that one.
