Bonny bank

It's high summer and the meadow flowers are in full swing. As we set off on this morning's group walk we came across this bank of wild flowers which someone had the foresight to sow. It looked all the more impressive against the river backdrop.
It was pretty hot as we set off for the four miles at just after 10 and got progressively hotter. But we were all well equipped with water, sun hats and sun cream and there was a light breeze.
A break halfway round at a tea room for cold drinks or ice cream made it all the more bearable. It's just great to be out and about again and enjoying the countryside with friends.
