The hottest day ever
Maybe wishful thinking, but I certainly wish I will never see +34°C in our thermometer again.
It was +32°C already at 10:30 am, when we got the first pit covered. The record was set at 2 pm and the pasture shot was taken four hours later, when it was still almost as hot. At 7:40 pm we got a quick shower with thunder, but it didn't last long and yielded just 2 mm rain.
Before the shower we got nine loads of silage out of the field and the last one in the pit during the shower. A few minor problems occurred: a loose cable caused a stop, which caused user error causing a clog in the chopper, which in turn caused a shear pin to break (first time in 27 years!), and later a pin in the tractor's three point linkage broke. Maybe could have made the tenth load without those, but still a productive day, despite the terrible heat.
Lauri had a job interview in the morning. Later he got a call, telling he was accepted!
