The last load today #2
Jussi driving the last load in. It was the ninth, and we had already quit after the eighth load because of rain, but the rain didn't really come. The clouds kept vanishing just when they were reaching us and just a few drops came, so we decided to do one more load in the evening. I think there's room for yet another load, even though Jussi disagreed.
Technical problems didn't cause any delays today, although there is a serious one developing. There are some damages in the chute of the chopper, and one of them has turned into a hole. It's not easy to repair and a spare part would probably be too expensive for a machine that is at the end of its life cycle, with many other parts seriously worn.
Another problem is with the silage grab. One spike is broken, but it doesn't matter much, and it won't be difficult to repair.
There was one reason of delays though. Two loads of heifers were changed, but it went very well, so no big delays there either.
Temperature down to more tolerable numbers. Not sure what was the highest, but I think not above +30°C. That's still very hot, especially with the high moisture. It was much cooler when the rain was supposed to come though.
