Habemus Papam

Really diggin' the new Pope's name as it also happens to be my favourite prayer.

I got this wee prayer card in the St Oswald's Church in Grasmere last year when we were there visiting the Wordsworth graves. It was a typical winter's day in the Lakes and it was a perfect little peaceful oasis where we hid out from the rain for a while. This prayer really is a beautiful piece of writing and I carry it with me in my cycling bag almost as if it is another piece of safety equipment like my high-viz vest or my lights. My rational mind tells me that it is just a bit of paper but there is a part of me that truly believes carrying this prayer is a talisman against some of the crazy 4 wheeled road users out there who seem unable to accept that we can all share the road.
