The Cabbage Tree at Dawn…

The Cabbage Tree, or Cordyline australis, is endemic to New Zealand. The Maori name is “ti kouka”. I love seeing it in the wild… I felt quite homesick when I saw it growing in the UK many years ago.
This morning’s dawn skies were stunningly lovely. At times they took my breath away. A beautiful scene around every corner as I walked with Maisie. I and a couple my regular walking friends, Ted and Tony, agreed that we are so lucky to see such skies. We feel sorry for all those folk who stay asleep in bed and miss out on such glory.
