Two versions of one history

I've recently read Robbie Robertson's biography; Testimony, which is mainly about the group he was in for sixteen years, first asThe Hawks, and then as The Band. I had previously read his bandmate Levon Helm's book; This Wheel's on Fire, an account of much the same period. It struck me that it is possible for two people to experience some of the same things, but arrive at different conclusions. I was impressed by both books but felt that while one spoke mostly to my head, the other had a bit more heart.
