A Small Heath

JJ and I walked up to the village this morning, through the park and round the park to the back of the church, where I had hoped to see a field of poppies.  Unfortunately there were very few wild flowers of any description to be seen.

We took the long route home, over the ridge and down through the fields, where JJ spotted this small heath butterfly, which is no bigger than a thumb nail.
