Big Barn Farm

Meet Percy the pig. He was part of the welcoming party that greeted Ophelia, Arwen and I as we arrived at our friends' house this afternoon. It took us a while to find them as their farm is about three quarters of a mile down and up a steep hill on an off road track and the track is off a side road that is off the main road. The main road is still blocked with rather a lot of snow on one side so was a narrow path. We arrived, relieved to be there, to find we were a week early for our lunch date. Ah. Still, we had a warm greeting from Percy and the rest of the welcoming committee that consisted of three goats, some chickens and a llama called Mabel. There is also a llama called George who is rather cheeky and chased me round the car on the way out. He is llama non grata to Tesco delivery people after he broke into the van recently and scarpered off with another customer's loaf of bread. Oh, and there are five cats on the farm. And some wicked geese. And two highland cattle - one of which has learned how to pull the doorbell cord.

I'm looking forward to visiting again next week.
