We knew popular haunts including the coast would be popular. Pickering itself has lots of visitors. 

Instead of walking from the house we decided on a short journey up to Stape on the edge of Cropton Forest. 

A very quiet walk where we spotted this Fritillary. Not sure which variety as I couldn’t see under the wings. However it is a new one for me and given how few butterflies I have seen I was pleased to catch it.
