Reinvented
Having not been into this part of town for a while, I was surprised to see that one of the oldest coaching inns/pubs to survive in the town centre, has once again had a name change!
Originally the White Horse on Standishgate, it’s now called The Ukulele, featuring non other than George Formby, son of Wigan and highest-paid film and stage performer of the 1930’s and ‘40’s.
