Panic stations

Not long after this photo, we were walking along a grass path when Lottie suddenly screamed in pain. I couldn't see anything which might have caused her any pain, couldn't find any external injury but she was terrified and shaking.

She didn't want to walk, she had her back arched, tummy tucked up and her back end and tail tucked in. We sat for a while and she climbed onto my knee and into my arms, so I carried her back up the field.

Called at the nearest house and Julia gave us a lift home. As soon as we got in the house, Lottie bolted up the stairs and hid herself in the corner of the bedroom.  Spoke to the vet who suggested she might have been bitten or stung and to keep an eye on her.

Poor mite, she slept all evening and was still reluctant to walk when I tried to get her to go outside last thing. However, she ran up the stairs at bed time and settled herself down between the pillows. We're off to the vet in the morning.
