Colonsay.4

Today I woke to see mist on the hill, so took the morning off from exploring. I walked Django to the shop, caught up with some emails, and helped guide A on her trip around the island of Kerrera: I have the OS map on my laptop and she only has her phone. It's just off Oban, and she had time to spend before getting the Colonsay ferry this afternoon.

The cloud had lifted and partially cleared by the end of the morning so, after lunch, Django and I walked over the old road to revisit ruins of Riasg Buidhe, a settlement abandoned about 100 years ago (see extra). From there, we walked north along the coast to the edge of a remnant of Hebridean forest: impressive, but utterly impenetrable. Back along the coast we came across a group of seals (see extra). They slipped off their rock, and then swam over towards us. We must have spent 20 minutes watching them, as they repeatedly approached, watched us, and then swam off again. I'm sure that Django thought that they were some species of alien dog, as he was keen to join them in the water. Finally, as we walked around the coast to the pier, we saw a large herd of wild goats (see extra).
