Canada Day

In a previous life I always flew the Canadian Maple Leaf flag today. The links between Scotland and Canada are deep and significant. Great respect to all Canadians today and especially those in Alba Nuadh!

Yesterday marked the end of Pride month. As I walked through Portobello early this morning I was heartened to see all the pride flags prominently displayed everywhere. Most businesses plan to keep these flag flying throughout the summer. Pride is year round. Not just in June.

It was the warmest day of the summer so far here in Edinburgh. The beach, at low tide, had space for everyone. There was a Mediterranean holiday feel at large in Porty today.

The forecast cloud eventually rolled in from the west in the early evening. This mini summer interlude may well now be on hold for the next ten days.
