Animal Farm

We took our little guy to the White Post Animal Farm today and it was quite a bust.  He was just a little too young for it.  It was just enough to tire him out, but then he fell asleep for 20 minutes in the car for the ride back to our hotel so the 2-hour nap opportunity was lost.  He never napped but he did lie quietly on the bed with us for an hour or so.  

He stayed with us overnight to give his mother a break.  She has not had an overnight break since he was born.  She is staying with her parents during this visit, but her mother isn't well.   Needless to say, we were delighted to take him for 24 hours and had the best time.  She was able to meet up with a couple of girlfriends and head out to the North Fork for an evening of wine-tasting at the vineyards.  And we had the little guy all to ourselves, and didn't have to compete with "Mama."  

The lack of a nap worked in our favor.  He went down to sleep at 8:30 pm in our hotel room and slept until 8:00 a.m.  His mother has already negotiated an extension on our next visit to Las Vegas so she and our son can get an overnight away.   We will happily oblige.
