Swallowtail in the Sunshine

… on the ridge up to Sex Carro with amazing views into the Mont Blanc Range and the north side of the Dents du Midi (extra). We were hoping an Apollo butterfly would settle too, but they were far too busy. It was my first big walk (1200m up then down, ouch, the knees) for a while and we were glad to be in the forest for most of it, out of the direct sun. When we were clear of the forest the flowers and butterflies were stunning. 

Preston has been outside most of the day for the first time for a week but he was very glad to come in just now. He thanks you for your good wishes and says have a good weekend!
