Who ordered rain?

My poor wee rain catered roses - some dead heading needed tomorrow! Thanks to BikerBear for hosting FlowerFriday.

Phin slept well again but we were up sharp to take him for his post-op checkup. The vet nurse was really pleased with his progress and says his wound is healing well, so that’s a relief. Nipped back to the clothing/homeward store to pick up an alternative pair of sandals which I’m much happier with so will need to return the first pair in the next couple of days.

Home to tidy round and clean some bathrooms before painting my toenails (badly) and getting ready to go out this afternoon for Miss PHL’s birthday treat from our son and his girlfriend. The travellers arrived in time to have a cup of tea before we ladies headed into town for afternoon tea at the wonderfully named Peacock Alley within what was the Caley hotel (now a Waldorf Astoria).

It was delicious! The gluten free options for Miss PHL mirrored our sweet and savoury items and we enjoyed a lovely glass of champagne with the cakes.

Headed to a local hostelry for cocktails afterwards before young Mr PHL came to collect us.

Small portions of spaghetti bolognese for the ladies at dinner before I whipped up a pavlova for pudding tomorrow.
