Hoswick fish
The Hoswick café is always worth a visit.
We had morning coffee there and sat for a while reading some of the local history material. A café with books to look at - win, win.
Outside, the parking area has been extended and new interpretation boards are still being completed. There I found this fish.
The visitor centre and café are located in a former tweed weaving mill and the permanent exhibition includes a wonderful old loom and a warping machine.
Hoswick is such an attractive village to walk round and it's encouraging to see the local community development organisation is always working to improve it for locals and tourists alike. In addition to the wonderful Nielanell knitwear shop there is the Laurence Odie Knitwear factory, (unfortunately closed at the moment), plus a new jewellery business.
We walked back along a new footpath to me - a fine grassy path alongside the stream, with vibrant yellow patches of iris and monkey musk.
