Diary of an Edinburgher

Dougal!

When JR came back from the gym, and I had done the bike a couple of times, I popped up to visit Uncle A to do some ironing for him. The lady who normally does his ironing has not been for a couple of weeks for some reason (but she’s coming this week). There was a huge pile, and Uncle A was getting distraught about it. Took me ages, but it’s done now.

The day was muggy and overcast, with rain forecast for late afternoon, so we set off across the Meadows, via a visit to Dougal’s house. He had just come back from his first holiday where he had a whale of a time at Christine’s family’s cottage, with two other dogs to play with. Archie and he got quite near each other for sniffs, though Archie wasn’t keen to get too near… (Extras)

We then walked on for a coffee, after which I came home and the others walked down to Princes Street Gardens. A few hours later on social media, there were videos of the Gardens FLOODED, with the heavy wooden benches upturned and in deep water! Yes, the predicted heavy rain arrived and it was like a monsoon. Fortunately Archie and JR were safely home before it started, though it didn’t last long.
