that long neck

to see what’s for lunch

as the heron fished - it was a precarious move - on my part - to try and balance - on a rock - of all things - to look down that - glorious neck just - to get a photo - but even with my - mobility issues and lately - now my sight troubles

it proved worth it - in the end - to be able - for a brief moment - to pause and snap - that long neck bending - gracefully into the water - of the pond - as it went searching - for something to eat - to share the hunt - with one of my favorite - birds definitely made it...
