Holme Fell Tarn

We came up to Holme Fell tarn to swim after hearing rumours of lots of water lilies. Well, there were certainly lots of plants but they didn't have lily pads and the flowers were very small. We had a lovely dip  and planned to do more distance, swimming in  Hodge Close quarry  nearby. But a very recent rock fall into the water put us off so we lit the BBQ instead . Mr P was on BBQ duty for 5 hungry ( but not as hungry as we should have been having missed out Hodge Close) lady swimmers and he did a splendid job.
