English Lavender
After a wet and dreary winter it seems that we are having a wetter than usual summer. Today it has been absolutely ridiculous weather, sunshine and blue skies one minute and lashing rain the next. I had packed away my wellies for the summer but this week it has been back to welly walks with Xena as it is so muddy and wet in the woods. She also gets so dirty so I have to wash her down after every walk - at least it helps the summer tick problem.
The lavender in my garden is looking lovely at the moment - although I am getting so bored with photographing flowers, I need a change of scenery!
The government has announced the lifting of many restrictions from 19 July and again from 16 August. We are all used to living with these restrictions that it will feel strange when they are lifted, and most people I talk to say they will continue to be cautious and wear face masks.
I am reading such a wonderful book, it is one of those books where I just don't want it to end, it has such a likeable cast of eccentric characters that you actually care what happens to them and I know when I finish reading it I will still think about them - it is Still Life by Sarah Winman (author of that other brilliant book When God was a Rabbit)
