Petula and the Poults

I saw the situation developing. Petula and her sister Petra were resting under a pine tree while momma deer was off doing momma deer stuff. Then, a rafter of turkeys wafted by. Petula was curious, Petra was not. Petra headed for the nearby woods.

But, Petula couldn't let the opportunity pass.. Her silent laughter...of the rafter...forced her to investigate.

The scene was too far off for my lens, and my ISO was way too high, but it was still fun to watch. It was like a scene straight from the movie Bambi, and it ended just like you think it might. Petula got a little too curious with one of her babies, and Theresa the mother turkey gave Petula a peck, and Petula dashed for the woods to join her sister.

Could you say that Petula did a bolt...
from the family of turkey poults?

from the group of turkey chicks?
