Sempervivum
Today's the day ...................... to live forever
No worries about going off and leaving these little plants that are growing in a stone trough in the back garden.
The name Sempervivum is derived from the latin words semper (always) and vivus (living) and is very appropriate for these hardy perennials. They keep their leaves in winter and manage to survive difficult conditions of growth. As long as there is good drainage for their roots, they seem to thrive.
And it's always good to come home and find them flowering away quite happily - no matter what the weather has been doing ..................
