Elderflower

Today's the day ....................... for the pick of the crop

I'm hoping that, with a little imagination - and a bit of effort - you will be able to smell the wonderful aroma of elderflower blossom?  There's nothing quite like it, to conjure up memories of carefree summer days when the sun shone in a clear blue sky and all was right with the world.

It's very late round here this year, for it to be in bloom but there's still plenty of time to go and pick some.  Will's going to make elderflower wine - and use some as a starter for his sourdough.  I'll be making some elderflower cordial to drink - hopefully on those remaining hot summer days and using it to make Mary Berry's Elderflower Posset.

It's such a charismatic - and useful - plant to harvest ......................
