39 Steps

They say that if the walls could talk at the Criterion Restaurant at Piccadilly Circus they would tell of when Sir Arthur Conan Doyle first imagined the meeting between Dr. Watson and the enigmatic Sherlock Holmes, in the Criterion Long Bar. Or the gatherings of the proud suffragettes, and how their discussions changed the face of democracy.
Our lunch there today was sheer perfection and there wasn't much talk, secrets or otherwise, between the champagne starter and the fabulous food. There were just lots of oohhs, aahhs and must come back here soon.
After that we stepped next door to the Criterion Theatre to see the wonderfully funny 39 Steps. With only 4 actors it was utterly splendid and a ripping yarn of the original film.
Beautiful surroundings, great food and entertainment, I can recommend all three!
