Wonderland

What a treat, what an experience. 12 off us boarded the ferry and sailed off to Long Island for a very special occasion - a high tea laid on as a book launch celebration! 
Castaway/Wild Island Glamping did the honours and what a lovely sight met us - a table in their garden (yes, sunshine) beautifully laid with  vintage crockery, candelabra, and shells, and other interesting things. Tracy then proceeded to laden it with all sorts of delightful food: fresh scones and homemade strawberry jam, teeny buns full of cucumbers and walnut, tons of strawberries, real trifle and lemon muffins! We were spoilt rotten and it all felt very Alice in Wonderland. The occasion was to celebrate the publication of a rather wonderful book: A Gazetteer of Irish Stained Glass which Finola had contributed to with research, photographs and proof reading. She very kindly presented us all with a copy and it looks wonderful - jam packed with familiar and not so familiar pieces. Something to treasure.
We arrived home wild and windswept (or was that just me) after a special time, Thank you so much Finola.
