Flower Friday: A Circle Within a Circle
This flower first made me think of a mandala with its circles within circles. Then the lyrics, "like a circle in a circle..." came into my head. It took a bit of a Google search to remember that song was "The Windmills of Your Mind".
The music was written by French composer, Michel Legrand, with English lyrics written by Alan and Marilyn Bergman for the 1968 movie, The Thomas Crown Affair. Some of us with a youth rooted in the 1960s might remember the movie as well as the song that won an Oscar for Best Original Song in 1969.
Here is a jazzy and much later recording of this song by Sting with saxophonist, Eugene Kolkevich, The Windmills of Your Mind.
The weather in the Pacific NW is warming up, however, it is still much cooler than the heatwave of a few weeks ago.
