Here’s Johnny!
We had a planned day at home today to continue painting the kitchen, but the weather was a bit pants so we didn’t miss out on doing anything more exciting.
Rach, Scott and the girls were arriving tonight so I cooked a beef tagine in the slow cooker, but I’d forgotten to get coriander, so I nipped to Aldi. It turned out to be the most expensive coriander - what should have been at 49p shop ended up costing £85! That middle aisle is lethal lol! We’d been wanting some new camping/picnic chairs but everywhere’s sold out, well apart from Aldi! They even had kids chairs, so I came away with two new chairs for us and two for the girls, quite good timing too as we have a picnic planned for tomorrow.
The weather improved enough for me to mow the garden and I had time for a shower before the family arrived. We had dinner followed by an evening in the conservatory and Violet went and got Johnny to show Scott. Johnny is a Pelham ventriloquist dummy and is about 46 years old, I was about 10 when mum and dad bought him for me. The girls like him, but for some reason he’s not allowed to stay in their room when they go to bed!
