There is Nothing Like a Good Cardboard Box
Flynn and his friend (who stayed for 2 nights) gathered a heap of cardboard boxes from the supermarket and spent most of yesterday making warrior costumes...helmets shields and weapons... today they made their lairs....with graffiti ...oh and one for Puss Puss who loves getting into boxes...Beetle not so.
Anyway Jaiya and I were discussing that 2 rolls of gaffa tape......1 large roll of masking tape a good whack of sellotape and a couple of large nib permanent markers was a small price to pay for a couple of happy boys.
Whilst the kids..happy as clams were on their project Jaiya and I went into the garage (both days) and continued with our clearing ..rearranging and chucking (some things) out....and my body feels rather sore by now.
We were discussing that being of artistic bents we have collected a lot of things to make things...Jaiya and I have different areas of our arty farty natures and then there is the boy.....so there are 3 people collecting different things to create with.... we are trying to find alternatives and really don't see the point in throwing everything out..because...we will need them when we get around to.................a dilemma for sure....however its so nice to be able to facilitate a boy with an ever growing hunger to create stuff and his friend.
Upshot...even though we are wanting extra space to put easels tables for craft....an area to use tools we are organising a lot of things into drawers with labels and so we can easily put out hands on what we are looking for.
Enough about the garage...I hope I dont dream about it tonight...and yes even though I am feeling rather sore more than that I am feeling very happy in accomplishing some different headspaces allowing me to unlock my lovely paints (some) pastels...pencils...printmaking stuff and heaps of other things to share with those two....I know it probably doesn't sound like it but its a huge jump for me...I might have to squirrel some things back to a personal space but not much.
