Balcony garden

Previously when we visited our friends H and D we had to fly to Jo’burg and then on to Durban. We had to stay for a few weeks to make the journey worth while. Now they have moved to the UK which has made them more accessible! They are now in Kent, about an hour’s journey away, so we are hoping to see rather more of them.
We went to lunch with them today and saw their lovely flat. It is very spacious, on the top floor (of three) of an elegant apartment block. Helen has always been a keen gardener, but now she has to be content with this small balcony, and an allotment which keeps them both busy and supplies them with vegetables. We had a good day with these very old friends, together with their daughter Kath (my goddaughter) and her husband, and we hope to see them again soon.
Home now, waiting for the football to start.
