Stop. Look. Listen.

The country (or a lot of it) stopped for the football this evening. We chose to look and listen to the BBC, the ITV commentary for the semi- final (and the interruptions for adverts) was dire.

The last time England won a major championship (it was a long time ago) my recollection is I fled the tension by roller skating outside. I’m just a bit too old for that now.

Italy were definitely the better team, so a lot of credit to them. England did well through the tournament. Not sure I want to see another penalty shoot out though.

And at least all the hype is over for now. The country has gone a bit football mad these last weeks. It is after all just a game of football.
