Woke up (somewhat demoralised after yesterday’s events*), to a wet start, rain and more rain. A glance at the local rag revealed several reports of flooding here and around.

The Central Gardens were affected (happens from time to time - have seen them ending up like the Serpentine in Hyde Park), also a nearby shopping street in Winton, and elsewhere.

So we walked down to town to check out the Gardens. Signs of water-logged ground, but otherwise the waters had flown ‘far out’ to sea. The Bourne River (blipped) was back to normal levels - disconcerting how a tiny ‘stream’ can flood such a vast area.

Super humid (again), so couldn’t cope with walking back. Hopped on a pretty empty bus (first inside bus trip since March 2020) for the short ride home.

*Naturally Mr B was cock-a-hoop, ‘Forza Italia’.
