Another Day - Another Cemetery

No rain today so I slid away for an hour or two to visit one of the cemeteries containing Commonwealth War Graves allocated to me.
Each cemetery has a form listing the Graves & Memorials within it, Mawnan Smith has five, or rather it did have, it now has six. I enjoy what I do when volunteering but the icing on the cake is finding one not recorded.

So from today a young man who died in the service of his country in 1916 with no known grave and had his name recorded on the family memorial will now have this memorial recorded by the CWGC as being his and his brothers. His name is on a different face of the plinth from his younger brother who died six months before him and a few miles away.

The young man does have a grave now, his remains were found and buried in France in 1930, he has an official war grave, but for a while this was all those who missed him had.

The photograph was taken whilst I sat on the bench enjoying a drink of water whilst looking out at the view, very peaceful.
