2021 Monday — Littlest Great-Grand
When we were at RJ’s birthday party back in June, Robert, our grandson-in-law, expressed that he wanted us to come over for dinner the next time we were back from Cayucos.
Before we returned from the Central Coast last Saturday, I let Ashly know we were returning and that we’d be staying in SoCal for probably just a week. Robert doesn’t work on Mondays so this was a good evening for dinner at their home.
Robert loves to cook, so he prepared bolognese. It was delicious. We are fans of Italian food, especially pasta. So we were in oink Heaven.
After dinner we all went outside so little RJ could have some room to move and work off his excess energy before it was bedtime.
So two of the photos in this collage are RJ (after he’s gotten fairly dirty) playing on the toy car and track that his mom found for him on the “Offer Up” app, and the third photo happened as they were saying goodbye to us as we exited the front door. I realized that moment at the front door was a photo opportunity, so I quickly took the picture. Their little pup Barkley could have been better centered in the frame, but oh well, not being perfect is what makes the moment real. It was an evening we thoroughly enjoyed.
They live in a very fast growing area of Southern California, north Fontana. New housing tracks are being constructed everywhere around their year old neighborhood. It’s an area that was almost barren back when I would make the drive to Cal State University San Bernardino to earn my bachelor’s degree (89) and then master’s degree (91). During that time, it was just undeveloped land for miles and miles.
The drive home tonight was much quicker than the drive to their place because the afternoon/evening commuter traffic had diminished and because most vehicles were traveling north on the freeway and we were headed south.
In Southern California,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
