One of Mom's favourites

This is an outfit that Mom had made for herself when she was very young.   It is made from linen and the design is embroidered on by hand.    I really liked the outfit and Mom had given it to me many years ago.   I actually wore it to a Halloween dance that my husband and I went to shortly after we were married.   I guess you might say that I dressed up as "my Mother" for the occasion.  
The outfit was packed away for many years but now has a place of honour on the mannequin in my craft room.   Mom was such a talented person - she could knit, sew, crochet, cross-stitch, embroider and made many quilts, all of which were hand quilted.    My sister and I were very fortunate that she had the time and patience to teach us these skills as well when we were very young.
I think of Mom and the memories every time I walk into the room.
