Leaving Bath on the Kennet and Avon Canal

Was asked to replace a young male cousin who cried off and help crew a narrow boat for 4 days.  Ha!  Leaping off the moving boat into reeds disguising the canal banks, throwing ropes, banging in mooring spikes, tying ropes, winching open swing bridges, winching up and down sluice gates, opening locks and steering for periods almost, but not quite had me beat.  Sleeping on a 2 foot wide bunk was hard too but it was enormous fun and after a wet start it was all wonderful.
