Fabulous weather, especially for beachgoers. We went out early to beat the 27c forecast. Was warm, but not unpleasant. A gentle breeze followed us. Had a good walk along the cliff-top and back via the high path in Boscombe Gardens.

Fennel heads have now appeared on the cliff-tops (*blipped), so plucked a few for my next batch of gherkins.

Home to catch up with news on the European floods. Watched more of the same on Belgian, French, German, Italian and Euronews.

Heard from Mr B’s cousin who returned yesterday to Belgium (from Puglia) for a sad family event. She said they had heavy rain but no damage. Whereas a friend of hers, in nearby Fallisolle, had sent her a video of houses submerged in the village. What a disaster for those affected.

Covid cases here now over 50,000 per day. Surely it won’t be long before Boris reverses recent relaxations.
