Vintage Ambiance

another latish one,....woke up,just after 8, feeling like I hadn't slept long enough. Showered, the. pulled on some joggers & a tee and went down for some breakfast.

The window cleaners came, got the usual "how you doing?!" through then kitchen window.....they always ask how I am. I always say "not too bad". Imgot myself readybas needed to be out by 11.15. First stop was Maccy D's to get granddaughter Emily her early lunch. Picked up daughter and we drove to meet up with my sis for lunch near Salford,
at Vintage Ambiance, where I have been just once before and really enjoyed it!'

We enjoyed a lovely couple of hours, as you can see its a lovely chic little cafe bar, owner tends the bar, hes a flamboyant guy, quite entertaininng lol! We parted company and I dropped daughter back at home, then drove into town to collect some soft fruit and cheese that I wanted.....had a quick coffee as I didnt have one after lunch ;-)

Back home, sorted out some post, did a bit of filing of papers, still, have two piles on the coffee table that aren't yet finalised :-/ Then got changed into shorts and vest and headed out into the garden. First I watered the baskets and co tainers then opened up the summerhouse, pit the cushions onto, the L shaped seating and sat for a little while formulating my plan of action.

Did some weeding and general tidying and then decided it was time to tackle the big tree ...the one hub was keen to get rid of last year!
Ive decided to cut off the lower branches to expose the trunk more and let some more light in beneath it.....followed by some shaping. Will then review amd, decide if Im happy to keep it or if it does need to go!!

I spent two hours, using the tree saw, loppers & secateurs, as the mound in the photo shows, but the tree doesnt look that much different in size......I was covered in sawdust, bits of leaves and the odd "biddy" that crawlies lol. I got rid of some of the thicker bamboo canes too! Made a start cutting up & striping the branches etc. put some in the bin, keeping the thicker sticks etc ....probably need to go the tip with those. Most of it is still on the lawn, a job for tomorrow......these are the jobs when I really miss a certain someones, extra pair of hands :-( The extra shows progress to date!

By the time Id tidied up put all the tools away, moved the cushions, locked up etc. it was approaching 9pm.....time for something to eat.
Put a jacket potato in the microwave and put the oven on to finish it off, prepared a mixed salad, boiled an egg, sliced some ham and goats cheese, plated it up, put the jacket spud in the oven then popped upstairs for a quick shower.

Freshened up, back downstairs, opened a bottle of rose sparkling wine, poured a glass to have with my dinner, whilst watching the golf open highlights.

Spent a couple of hours filing and soaking my nails, trying to remove the pink sparkly shellac polish.....half way there, need another stab at it tomorrow :-/

Another couple of days in the garden to come hopefully whilst the weather is so nice!!
Happy weekend all...stay safe.
