Cory Wong
I had two meetings, this morning, that I wasn't particularly looking forward to. The first was on Teams and I was chairing, which, if nothing else, keeps me focussed. The second was a business lunch with a chap who'd come up from London.
Anyway, they were both fine in the end but I was glad they were done and dusted by half-past two so that the Minx and I could walk over to Thomas Street to meet my friend Ian for a drink, sat in one of the gazebos in the newly pedestrianised section.
I was as pleasant as you'd imagine, sat in the sun, chatting, and having a beer. Glancing over at the posters that have been put up on some fencing, I noticed one for the guitarist, Cory Wong, who sometimes plays with one of Dan's favourite bands, Vulfpeck.
Whilst I don't like them as much as Dan does - nor would I go so far as to say that one of their live shows is as "as good as" 'Stop Making Sense' as he has - they are a cracking band. My favourite story that Dan has told me concerns them releasing an album of silence and asking their fans to stream it on Spotify while they slept, so that they could finance a tour!
