Howie and the Gunnera

Today's the day ......................... to swelter

Phew - it really has been SO hot here today.

I don't know how you lot in the deep south manage? - but, quite frankly, we're not used to it up here - and everything goes a bit limp.  So we had the idea of taking our friends, Sue and Howie, somewhere that looks perfectly at home when the temperatures soar.

The exotic plants from Australia, New Zealand, South and Central America and Southern Africa at Logan Botanical Garden, on the Rhins of Galloway are able to thrive because that part of the country is warmed by the Gulf Stream.  And it was all looking splendid today, basking in the sunshine.

This is Howie, finding some shade in the shelter of some enormous Gunnera leaves .....................
