Enjoying the last of the lavender

Lots of bees in the garden this afternoon and a small Tortoiseshell which just kept opening its wings quickly and then closing them for long periods of time - well it felt like a long time as I knelt over it waiting for it to open them again! The extra is a couple of green shield bugs doing what shield bugs do in the summer (I felt a bit voyeuristic) but they did keep still for a long time!
